LIVORNO, Italy — For the third straight game, the University of Illinois men's basketball team made quick work of its opponent during its Italy Tour.

The Illini defeated the Livorno All-Stars 107-74 on Friday as five players scored in double figures.

Ayo Dosunmu led Illinois with 26 points, while Giorgi Bezhanisvili had 20 point with nine rebounds; Tevian Jones had 16 points, 10 rebounds and five steals; Alan Griffin had 14 points and eight rebounds and Trent Frazier had 10 points.

While Illinois only shot 28 percent from the 3-point line, it shot 64.4 percent and had 19 steals as a team.

Assistant coach Jamall Walker served as head coach for the night for Illinois, who will finish up the trip today against the Netherlands National B Team. The tip-off for the game will be noon.


DHS to host tryouts and practices

DANVILLE — Practices and tryouts for Danville High School’s athletic teams are coming up next week.

The football team will start practice on Monday from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the DHS practice field. Also on Monday, the boys golf team will start at Turtle Run Golf Course at 3:30 p.m., girls swimming will go from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the DHS pool; cross country will meet at 6 p.m. at Danville High School and girls tennis will go from 3-5 p.m. at the Danville Tennis Club.

Boys Soccer will have tryouts and practices on Aug. 14-15 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at Danville High School, while the volleyball team will also run tryouts from the 14th-15th from 5-7 p.m. at Danville High School.
