WEST LEBANON, Ind. —The Fountain Central boys tennis team took four out of five position titles as they won the first ever Bi-County Team Tournament on Saturday.

Carson Eberly won the No. 1 singles title for the Mustangs with a tough game against Seeger’s Calvin Springer with a 7-5, 6-7 (5), 10-4 win. Brent Myers won the No. 3 title for the Mustangs, while Evan Norton won the No. 2 title for Covington.

In doubles, Fountain Central’s Jacob Keeling and Denton Otero rallied from a first-set loss to beat Seeger’s Nolan and Miles Potter 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 to win the No. 1 title. Mustang teammates Sawyer Keeling and CJ Yager would win the No. 2 doubles crown.

Danville competes at Invite

BLOOMINGTON — The Vikings traveled to the Bloomington Purple Invite and ended up with one top ten finish.

The team of Ava Towne and Josie Hotsinpiller took fifth at No. 2 doubles for Danville, who will face St. Thomas More on Monday.

Danville competes in Peoria

PEORIA — The Vikings took part of the First to the Finish Invitational at Detweiler Park.

The boys team ended up 49th in the 61-team meet as Ricky Oakley led Danville with a time of 17 minutes, 16.4 seconds for a 134th place finish. Tyler Surprenant was 181st (17:38), Luke Burleson was 297th (18:47), David Enjambre was 307th (18:56) and Michael Compton was 318th (19:09).

The girls team did not have a team finish with Allison Thompson running to a time of 21:55, Kaity Parker raced to a time of 21:58 and Kyra Dudley ran a time of 23:38.

Schlarman 48, Fulton County 42

CUBA — Marcus Blurton passed for 255 yards and five touchdowns as the Hilltoppers won their second straight game in an overtime thriller.

Blurton hit Rance Bryant nine times for 111 yards and two touchdowns for Schlarman Academy and teamed up with Vaughn Black five times for 112 yards and two scores. Bryant also returned a kickoff for a touchdown and added an interception on defense.

Andy Craig had 10 tackles, while Blurton and Dakota Keller each recovered a fumble.

The Hilltoppers are 2-1 and will face Milford/Cissna Park on Friday.

BHRA takes third at Invite

FARMER CITY — Kevin Clapp won medalist honors with a score of 78 as the Blue Devils were third at the Blue Ridge Boys Invitational.

Izaiah Lusk had a 85 for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, while Michael Chochola had a 100 and Issac Tabels carded a 105.

El Paso-Gridley won the team title with 323, while Arcola/Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond was second at 347.

Hoopeston Area second in Classic

HOOPESTON — The Cornjerkers beat Blue Ridge/Deland-Weldon 4-1, but lost in the title game of the Cornjerker Classic to Monticello 2-1.

In the win, Josh Delfino had three goals, while Ben Brown had a goal and Neil Williams and Lucas Hofer each had a assist.

In the title game, Rhys Root scored the lone goal for Hoopeston Area.

The Cornjerkers are 10-1-1 and will play Judah Christian on Monday.

Jacksonville 5, Danville 2

JACKSONVILLE — Armando and Gustavo Segura each had a goal, but the Vikings could not get past Jacksonville.

Thanh Nugyen had an assist for Danville, while Tyler Finley had 12 saves in goal.

The Vikings are 4-5 and will travel to Champaign Centennial on Tuesday.

BHRA 7, Unity 1

BISMARCK — The Blue Devils scored all of their goals in the first half as they cruised past the Rockets.

Keanu King had two goals for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, while Cameron Douglass had a goal and two assists, Drew Reifsteck, Elijah Tidwell, Leighton Meeker and Liam Oxendine each had a goals and Evan Walworth, Andrew Tingley and Nathan Dice each had a assist.

Tingley and Garret Huls combined for four saves in goal for the Blue Devils, who are 7-0 and will face Fisher on Monday.

Schlarman wins one at Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE — The Hilltopeprs beat Lovejoy 25-10, 25-17, but lost to West Prairie 25-11, 25-20, Rochester 25-11, 25-9 and Peoria Richwoods 25-18, 27-25.

Emma Bogen had 22 kills and eight assists on the day for Schlarman Academy, while CeCe Damilano had 17 kills and 21 assists and Tannah Ceader had nine kills and four assists.

BHRA 1-3 at Clinton

CLINTON — The Blue Devils beat El Paso-Gridley but fell to St. Thomas More, Prairie and Maroa-Forsyth at the Clinton Tournament.

Emily Meidel had 38 kills for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, while Sarah Story and Sophia Rome each had 28 digs, Ashlynn Griffin had 37 assists, Sadie Penrod had 20 assists and Erin Gregory had seven aces.

The Blue Devils are 5-5 and will play Cissna Park on Monday.

Oakwood winless at Mahomet

MAHOMET — The Comets lost 25-10, 25-12 to host Mahomet-Seymour, 25-13, 25-12 to Williamsville and 25-15-25-15 to Rantoul at the Bulldog Invitational.

Katelyn Young had 15 kills and eight assists on the day For Oakwood, while Aaliyah Denius had eight kills and Karsen Rupp had 13 assists.

Covington fourth at Harrison

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Trojans beat Benton Central 14-25, 25-18, 17-15, Lowell 25-19, 19-25, 15-11 and Rochester 25-17, 25-27, 15-12 but lost to Danville, Ind. 20-25, 25-23, 13-15.

Lauren O’Neill had 42 kills and 11 blocks on the day for Covington, while Nai’a Pettit had 23 kills and nine aces and Grayson Kleist and Holly Linville each had 17 kills.

The Trojans are 12-4 and will travel to Benton Central on Tuesday.

Mustangs 1-2 at Rossville

ROSSVILLE, Ind. — The Mustangs beat North Miami 25-18, 17-25, 15-6 and lost to host Rossville 25-12, 25-17 and Lewis-Cass 25-8, 26-24.

Reagan Oswalt had 13 kills for Fountain Central, while Alexis Griffin and Stella Jones each had nine kills and Larissa Bowers had seven kills. Griffin had six aces, Oswalt had seven blocks, Marley Massey had 37 digs and Lillie Fishero and Trinity Lindquist each had 14 assists.

Halloween Hustle

COVINGTON, Ind. — Registration for the Covington Nursery School’s Halloween Hustle 5K/10K race is open.
