HOOPESTON — The Hoopeston Area boys basketball team could not keep up with the pace of Robinson on Friday as they lost 67-52 in non-conference action.

Lucas Hofer led the Cornjerkers with 19 points, while Josh Delfino had 15 points, Cameron Flint had six and Mauricio Gonzalez had five.

The Cornjerkers will start play today in the Vermilion County Tournament at 3:45 p.m. today against Westville.

Parke Heritage 68, Covington 62

MARSHALL, Ind. — Colton Brown had 18 points, but the Trojans could not get past the Wolves in Wabash River Conference action.

Caleb Ellmore had 14 points for Covington, who had a 40-31 halftime lead, while Logan Pinkerton had 12, Alan Karrfalt had 10 and Daniel Keller added seven.

First Baptist 58, Suburban Baptist 51

DANVILLE — Joel Cundiff had 25 points as the Knights won at home.

Stephen Seest had 14 points for First Baptist, while Bryson Harris had 11 points.

Danville 4, Mentor 2

MENTOR, Ohio — Down 2-1 after the first period, the Dashers would rally to beat the Ice Breakers.

Jesse Neher had two goals for Danville, while Fred Hein and Levi Armstrong each had one goal. Logan Hawgood had two assists, while Mitch Atkins, Nick Gullo, Justin Brausen and Ben Boukal each had one assist.

Harley White had 35 saves in goal for the Dashers, who will play Mentor again today.
