ARMSTRONG — The Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin girls basketball team ended their regular season on Thursday with a 41-23 win over Armstrong-Potomac.
Emily Meidel had 23 points for the Blue Devils, who had a 27-6 halftime lead, while Bre Maloney had six points and Emma Clapp and Sierra Bryant each had four.
Emily Rogers had eight points for Armstrong-Potomac, while Joei Younker had six points and Maddy Hudson added four.
The Trojans will play St. Thomas More on Monday at the Lexington regional, while the Blue Devils will either Monticello or Maroa-Forsyth on Wednesday at the Maroa-Forsyth regional.
BHRA will also take a look at today’s game between Schlarman Academy and Oakwood. The game, which was moved from Thursday to 6 p.m. today at Shebby Gym, will have a major impact on the Vermilion Valley Conference. If the Hilltoppers win, they will win the conference, but if the Comets win, it will be a three-way tie between Schlarman, BHRA and Oakwood.
Salt Fork 57, Westville 36
WESTVILLE — Mackenzie Russell had 24 points as the Storm got past the Tigers.
Kayleigh Davis had 19 points for Salt Fork, while Alexis Hettmansberger added six points.
Daphne Williamson had nine points to lead Westville, while Hadley Cox and Chloe Brant each had eight.
The Storm will play either Fisher or Donovan on Tuesday at the Iroquois West regional, while the Tigers will play Oakwood on Monday in the Maroa-Forsyth regional.
Ohio State 78, Illinois 58
CHAMPAIGN — The Illini was only down seven going into the fourth quarter, but the Buckeyes put the game away with 26 points in the fourth.
Petra Holesinska had 17 points and two steals for Illinois, while Bradi Beasley had 16 points, Ali Andrews had eight points and three assists, Kennedi Myles had seven points and seven rebounds and Courtney Joens had six points and five rebounds.
The Illini are 10-12 and 1-10 in the Big Ten and will face Penn State on Sunday.
