DANVILLE — City officials will close Robinson Street beginning Wednesday due to demolition under way for the Carle medical project.
The street will be closed, weather permitting, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. between Lafayette and Harrison streets. The work is scheduled to be complete by Friday.
The demolition of houses and buildings is in preparation for the start of construction for Carle’s $70 million medical complex.
The closure will affect motorists traveling both northbound and southbound on Robinson.
City officials advise drivers to choose an alternate route to avoid delays. There will be a high volume of construction traffic between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution while traveling near the work zone, and be attentive to the changes in traffic control, according to a city release.
