DANVILLE — A shooting victim decided Tuesday that he wasn't interested in talking to the police after all.
Danville Police responded at 8:05 a.m. to OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center to a call about a 27-year-old man with a gunshot wound, according to a press release issued by Comm. Joshua Webb.
Upon arrival, officers met the Danville man with a wound to the abdomen.
The victim gave several different versions and locations of how and where the incident occurred.
"Due to the conflicting information provided for the incident, officers were unable to verify how the victim was injured," Webb said in the release.
While detectives were doing follow-up questioning, the victim stated he no longer wanted to speak with the police and was not interested in pursuing the incident any further.
Danville Police will continue to investigate the incident.
The victim remains at the hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening wound. No other injuries were reported during this incident, and no other information will be released at this time.
