DANVILLE — Yet another shooting has landed a Danville man in the hospital.

Police responded to Fowler and English streets at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers located a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim said he was walking the the area when a vehicle passed by him.

He told police, "Someone started shooting from the vehicle and he began running away when he was struck by the gunfire," said Police Commander Joshua Webb in a press release.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening wounds. No other injuries were reported during the incident.

The shooting is the second in recent days. A Danville man, Justin Daubaris, 20, was shot and killed Sunday night after three men broken into a residence in the 900 block of Hazel Street. A 23-year-old man also in the residence was wounded in the leg.

The wounded man has not been identified. Police continue to investigate that incident.
