DANVILLE – Members of the city council’s Public Works Committee tonight will consider a contract to address sewer televising and cleaning.

The $293,189 contract with National Power Rodding Corp. is to help rate and televise storm and sanitary sewers. Results from the work will be used to continue asset management for the city’s sewer system.

According to the city resolution, the contemplated work will address approximately 33,155 lineal feet of the city’s underground sewer system.

“This work is needed on an ongoing annual basis,” the resolution states.

The work will be paid with the city’s sewer enterprise fund.

In other business, committee members will consider approving Danville Mass Transit’s Title VI Program submission for the Federal Transit Association.

DMT receives federal funds for operating and also capital projects.

Bus ridership in June was 47,555. The ADA ridership for May was 703 rides. DMT revenue in June was $28,473.

DMT Director Lisa Beith also reports they received bids for a uniform contract. The sole bidder was Clean Uniform Co.

She also reports they are wrapping up fiscal year 2019. The state awarded DMT's 2020 budget application and the resolution for its approval will be brought before aldermen with the agreement when it is received from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The committee also is expected to hear a Danville Area Transportation Study update.

The committee meets at 6 tonight at the Robert E. Jones Municipal Building, 17 W. Main St.
