Hoopeston Fire Department investigated an odor of wires smoldering off 3850 North Road, Hoopeston. Cause was faulty hot water heater malfunction.

Westville male arrested for armed robbery in the 100 block of Mulberry Street, Georgetown.

Criminal damage in the 800 block of State Street, Westville.

Tuesday:

Wanted on a warrant in the unit block of East Owen, Ridge Farm. A man was arrested.

Driving while suspended and suspended plates at Route 1 and East 12th, Georgetown. A man was given a notice to appear.

July 31, 1:44 p.m. – At West Newell and Old West Newell roads involving Mark S. Calvin and Lance T. Holecz. Calvin was ticketed for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Tuesday, 11:45 a.m. — At North Vermilion, involving Lorri L. McCarthy, Clifford S. Lappin and Kierstyn N. Paris. McCarthy was cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Tuesday, 2:52 p.m. — At Bowman and Fairchild, involving Danny D. Butts and Brittany M. Williams. Butts was cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Thursday, 7:14 a.m. – At Catlin-Homer Road and 400 East Road involving Mitchell P. Bryant. Bryant was ticketed for leaving the scene of an accident and no valid driver’s license.

Thursday, 3:33 p.m. – On Interstate 74 northbound at the 208 mile marker involving Michael M. Milne and Michael J. Burke. Milne was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operation of vehicle with expired registration plates or sticker.

Thursday, 6:27 p.m. – At Oakwood and the Interstate 74 overpass involving Marshall E. Davis and Jason A. Greene. Davis was ticketed for operating an uninsured vehicle.

Friday, 9:20 p.m. – In Oakwood Township at 1700 North and 740 East roads involving Logen P. Hoshauer. He reportedly was injured.

Friday, 3:03 p.m. -- At 16113 East and 2750 North roads involving Arron M. Whorrall. He reportedly was injured. He was ticketed for driving with suspended license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Saturday, 8:54 p.m. – At 2nd Avenue and West Maple Street, Hoopeston, involving Dustin Loveless, 37, of Rankin. Loveless was ticketed for driving while license suspended, operating a vehicle with expired registration and improper display of license. Passenger Kenneth Armstrong, 41, of Champaign, also was arrested on an outstanding Vermilion County warrant.
