ALVIN — A possible drug deal-gone-wrong awakened the typically-quiet village of Alvin as a call of shots fired resulted in three arrests.
Deputies were dispatched at 9 p.m. Thursday and found a 21-year-old man beaten and robbed of several items, including a large quantity of cannabis and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.
"Shots were fired by the suspects toward the victim and a 17-year-old witness that was with the victim," according to Capt. Michael Hartshorn of the Vermilion County Sheriff's Department.
Wade Mascari, 20, of the 1500 block of North Gilbert, Danville, and Caydin Spires, 19, of the 300 block of West Voorhees, Danville, and a 17-year-old juvenile, were apprehended in the area a short time after the call and were charged with armed robbery, possession of a stolen firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm.
