Investigators are looking into the cause of a dual structure fire Monday afternoon.

The fire was reported at 3:30 p.m. Monday in a garage at 17 Nicklas St.

Danville fire Assistant Chief John High said the fire had moved through most of the garage when firefighters arrived on the scene.

Flames from the blaze then moved the two-story house standing next to the garage.

High said firemen made their entrance and found heavy flames to the rear of the home on the second floor.

High said the home was vacant at the time of the fire, which remains under investigation.

Damages to the garage and home are estimated at $30,000. Firefighters were at the scene for almost two hours.
