HILLSDALE, Ind. — Contact with a minor from another state has a Vermillion County man in trouble with the law.
The Indiana State Police initiated a criminal investigation in April 2019 after receiving information from the Connecticut State Police that a 12-year-old girl had been exploited by a man in Indiana.
The investigation revealed that Leonard D. Beebe, 53, of Hillsdale, allegedly had been engaging in child exploitation with a minor.
After reviewing the investigation, the Vermillion County Prosecutor's Office issued an arrest warrant for Beebe on Aug. 5. Beebe turned himself in to the Vermillion County Sheriff's Department and bonded out.
Beebe has been charged with child exploitation, a level 4 felony.
