DANVILLE — A Danville High School art teacher faces felony charges after being indicted in Vermilion County Circuit Court this week.
A warrant for the arrest of John J. Rackow Jr., 39, of Perrysville, Ind., was issued May 22 in connection with an incident from Feb. 19. He was arrested earlier this week.
Rackow has been charged with attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse, aggravated battery in a public way, sexual exploitation of a child and exposure of organs, according to court records.
He is free on bond after posting $7,500 bail on June 4. His next court date is June 27, when he will be formally arraigned on the charges by the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s office.
Danville District 118 Superintendent Alicia Geddis declined to comment, stating that it was a personnel issue.
