The annual Midwest Dachshund Festival on Saturday has been moved due to the rain.

The festival now will be held at the Danville High School Field House on Jackson Street, instead of Lincoln Park.

Hours remain the same, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The vendors will be indoors, but a tent will be set up outside for cooking food.

The event will feature contests — such as traveled farthest, best costumes, oldest — and games, as well as vendors and rescue dogs up for adoption. Owners also will line up and sing the Dachshund Song to the tune of “Home on the Range.”

The event draws dachsie owners from across the country, and raises funds for its sponsor, the Dachshund Rescue of North America. The group helps hundreds of dachshunds receive medical attention and basic care so they can be placed into approved homes.
