DANVILLE — City officials issued a weather emergency late Saturday afternoon, putting Public Works personnel on the street around the clock in advance of the approaching winter storm.

As a result of the declaration, residents are required to remove all vehicles from emergency snow routes or face being towed. Danville and the area is expected to receive as much as 8 inches or more of snow by late tonight.

The city’s full plowing fleet will focus on major traffic corridors and other heavy traffic streets first, with attention given to residential areas when possible.
