Robert and Roberta Cunningham of Covington, Ind., marked their 65th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at the Possum Trot.
Robert Cunningham and Roberta Cale were married Jan. 29, 1950, at the Second Church of Christ on Bowman Avenue, Danville, with Pastor C.M Read officiating.
The couple owned and operated several Mike’s Restaurants in the Covington/Danville area for 45 years. Bob always greeted customers with a smile and a pot of coffee. The restaurants were known for Roberta’s fresh strawberry pies. They enjoy traveling, having been to all 50 states and some foreign countries. Bob is the author of “Hello, My Name is Bob.”
God blessed them with three children, Mike (Janice) Cunningham and Nancy (Steve) Hughes of Covington, and Susan Kay, in heaven; grandchildren, Andy (Kim) Cunningham of Elkhart, Ind., Jon Cunningham of Westfield, Ind., and Philip Cunningham, Kim Clemence and Brandon Hughes, all of Covington, Dustin Hughes of West Lafayette, Ind., and Bethany (Cole) Dudley of San Jose, Calif.; and great-granddaughters, Maya Kale Clemence and Karaline Kae Clemence, both of Covington.
