As a child, Jennifer Haddock idolized Warren County Fair queens.
"I dreamed of being the queen as a little girl," she said Monday night, minutes after she was crowned the 2009 Warren County Fair queen from among nine contestants.
"I am so excited," Haddock said. "I look forward to being an example to little girls."
Haddock, 17, received her crown from the 2008 queen, Rebecca Fowler.
The nine-year 4-H member, said the fair will take on a new meaning this year.
"I am going to have fun," she said.
Haddock will be a senior at Seeger Memorial High School, where she is drum major of the band and a member of the National Honor Society. She participates in swimming, volleyball and track.
The daughter of John and Twila Haddock of rural Warren County, she plans to attend college and study marine biology.
Other winners were
-Princess (first runner-up) - Allyson Holley of rural Warren County.
-Second runner-up - Brittany Hansen of rural Warren County.
-Miss Congeniality -Holley.
-Miss Photogenic - Kristen Rainey of Williamsport.
"They all worked hard 110 percent," said Sabrina Evans, pageant director. "Everyone did a good job."
