Barbara Roemer and Jon LeGrant were united in marriage Oct. 1, 2011 at the Lutheran Church of Mahomet in Mahomet. They were blessed to have Rev. Ray Bowers and Rev. Ervin Hesterberg, Uncle of the bride, both officiate the ceremony. A reception followed at The Linden Banquet Center in Rantoul.
Matron of honor was Kristina Swanson of Chicago, daughter of the bride. Joy LeGrant of Springfield, daughter of the groom was the bridesmaid. Flower girls were Regan and Hadley Shaffer of Leeton, Mo., great nieces of the bride.
Best man was Michael Anderson of Danville, friend of the groom. The groomsman was Ken Roemer Jr. of Mahomet, son of the bride. Ring bearer was Levi LeGrant of Clive, Iowa, grandson of the bridegroom.
Ushers included the bridegroom’s four sons, Peter LeGrant of Iowa City, Iowa, Andrew LeGrant of Clive, Iowa, Charles LeGrant of Danville and Dale LeGrant of Pensacola, Fla.
The new Mrs. LeGrant is the daughter of Richard and LaVerne Shaffer of Fisher. She is a 2001 graduate of Eastern Illinois University, and earned a master’s degree in human resource education from the University of Illinois in Dec. 2008. She works as an Associate Director at the University of Illinois.
The bridegroom is the son of Larry LeGrant of Farmington, N.M. He is a 1980 graduate of The University of The Pacific and works as a clinical pharmacist at the Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System in Danville.
After a wedding trip to Mexico, the couple is at home in Fisher.
