— Jessica Anna Whiteman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Whiteman of Stafford, Va., and Lt. Raymond Samuel James McConnell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin McConnell of Stafford, were married April 6, 2013. The ceremony and reception were held at the Inn at the Olde Silk Mill in Fredericksburg, Va.
Jocelyn Aldinger was the matron of honor, and Jerilyn Brooks was the maid of honor. Jessie Winship and Julia Romanchik were bridesmaids.
Mike Scancella was the best man. Groomsmen were Chris Cheezem, Gifford Taylor and Matthew Whiteman, brother of the bride. Mark Allen, cousin of the bride, was an usher.
Jessica is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whiteman of Hoopeston and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Rush of Wellington.
Raymond is the grandson of Harold McConnell of Durango, Colo., and Joy DesRoiser of Whitehall, Mont.
The bride earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Old Dominion University.
The groom earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Longwood University. He is a surface warfare officer in the U.S. Navy. McConnell is an assistant professor at the Virginia Military Institute.
The couple resides in Lexington, Va.
