The Rose Well House on the campus of IndianaUniversityin Bloomington, Ind.was the beautiful fall setting for the October 15, 2011wedding of Amy Pauline Payne and Chase Bowen Martin. The groom’s uncle, Ed Bowen, of Attica, Ind.presided over the very personalized ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Kent and Sandy Payne of Newtown, Ind. She is a graduate of IndianaUniversityand the University of Illinois Law School and is employed with the MonroeCounty Public Defenders' Officein Bloomington, Ind.
The groom is the son of Sandy Martin of Veedersburg, Ind.and Dan Martin of Lebanon, Ind. Chase is a graduate of Indiana University and is currently employed as a programmer with Veer West LLC in Bloomington. Both graduated from Fountain Central High School.
Surrounded by friends and family the couple elected not to have attendants. The mothers of the bride and groom served as witnesses and bestowed the couple with soil from their respective family farms to the couple’s unity plant as a symbol of “those who have gone before and those yet to come.”
The reception was held at the Pic A Chic retreat south of Bloomington. Guests received favors of homemade jams and jellies from the bride and her family members.
After a honeymoon at West Baden Springs the couple resides in Bloomington.
