LOCAL ROUNDUP: Toppers beat down Buffaloes

DANVILLE — Andrew Kelly had 20 points as the Schlarman boys basketball team defeated Georgetown-Ridge Farm 58-35 on Friday in Vermilion Valley Conference action.

Austin Calhoun had 12 points for the Hilltoppers, who was up 10-7 after the first quarter and pulled away for good in the second for a 27-15 lead, while Chris Kuchefski had 10, Michael Simmons had eight and Gannon Hughes added six.

Kyle Coburn and Dylan Bina each had seven points for the Buffaloes while Garrett Martin added five.

ARMSTRONG — Austin Merritt had 20 points as the Cardinals defeated the Trojans.

Ty Bolen had 18 points for Chrisman, who put the game away in the fourth with a 21-13 edge, while Tyler Lunger had nine points.

Blake Davis had 13 points to lead Armstrong-Potomac while Dentler Loschen had 12, Corey Buhr had eight and Shawn Johnson added seven.

WILLIAMSPORT, Ind. — Nathan DeVillez had 25 points as the Patriots got past Benton Central in overtime.

Borden Kennedy had 13 points for Seeger, who was down 26-15 at halftime, but scored 28 points in the fourth quarter to force overtime, while Caleb Orahood had 12 points and Zach Stitt and Issac Foxen each had five.

VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — Ethan Woodrow had 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Mustangs crushed Faith Christian.

Koby Pierce had 17 points for Fountain Central, who had a 44-10 halftime lead, while Luke Davenport had 13, Kiowa Simonton had eight and Clayton Corey, Sam Woodrow and Michael Duane each added six.

MICHIGANTOWN, Ind. — Kenny Little had 27 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and three assists as the Red Ramblers got past Clinton Central.

Brady Sheridan had 22 points for Attica, while Keetin Arnold had 15 and JR Dunwell added eight.

HOOPESTON — Taylor Vice had 10 points as the Storm scored 12 points in overtime to get the win over Hoopeston Area.

Kalyn Learnard and Jenny Kimbro each had eight for Salt Fork, who was down 26-19 before tying things up at 34-34 at the end of regulation, while Heather Ellis had six.

Sarah Dixon had 13 to lead the Cornjerkers, who was coming off a 48-32 loss to Schlarman on Thursday, while Haley Dixon had nine, Tori Smock had eight and Olivia Smith added six.

DANVILLE — Rachel Wells had 11 points, but it was not enough as the Knights lost to Calvary Baptist of Chillicothe.

Ashley Greazer had five points while Hannah Wells and Sydni Neal each had four for First Baptist, who is 3-9 and will play Arthur/Okaw on Monday.
