Danville girls tennis out of IHSA state meet

Blue Devils complete perfect regular season with 20-14 win


Josh Johnson scored the only touchdown for Oakwood/Armstrong-Potomac on a 94-yard run in the fourth quarter while Zach Horatschki had 84 yards on the ground.

The Storm end the regular season 8-1 and 5-1 in the VVC and will see who they will play in the playoffs today while the Comets end the season 1-8 and 1-5.

Milford/CP 56, Hoopeston Area 6

HOOPESTON — The Bearcats scored all of their points in the first half, including 42 in the first quarter, to defeat the Cornjerkers.

Milford/Cissna Park rusehd for 376 yards on the ground with Devon Laubscher running for 80 yards and Josh Marquex running for 49 yards and two scores, Jacob Marquez had 68 yards and a score and Corwin Allen had 65 yards and a score.

Jacob Marquez completed a 52-yard pass to Jake Rogers for a score for the Bearcats, who are 5-4 and 3-3 in the VVC.

Deven English scored the only touchdown for Hoopeston Area with a 7-yard run in the fourth quarter to close the scoring, while Coty Coon had 25 yards rushing.

The Cornjerkers end the season 0-7 and 0-6 in the VVC in their first season after a one-year hiatus.

Fountain Central 68, Riverton Parke 12

VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — Koby Pierce passed for 177 yards and four touchdowns as the Mustangs took a 56-0 halftime lead in eliminating the Panthers in a IHSAA sectional game.

Daniel Harrison 63 yards rushing and 70 yards receiving with two touchdowns while Jared Fishero had 64 yards rushing with two scores and Laine Frazee had 62 yards and a touchdown.

The Mustangs are 10-0.

Pioneer 59, Seeger 6

ROYAL CENTER, Ind. — The Patriots ended the season on the road in losing a sectional game with Pioneer.

Seeger ends the season with a 3-7 record.


Kaskaskia 3, DACC 1

DANVILLE — Abby Bergman had 12 kills, 13 digs and three blocks but it was not enough as the Lady Jaguars lost 25-19, 25-18, 23-25, 25-20 to Kaskaskia.

Ericka Arnold-Dix had 11 kills, nine digs and a ace for DACC while Abby Barth had five kills and eight digs, Aliah Larsen had six kills and two blocks and Lauren McKenzie had 38 assists.
