Mustangs, Patriots advance players to WRC semis


CJ Day was 13th (19:23) for Attica while Andrew Mason took 23rd (20:03) and Kylan Freeland placed 25th (20:09).

Corey Clayton was seventh for the Mustangs (18:53) while James Andres was 19th (19:51).

In the girls race, Morgan Grubb was fifth (22:31) as the Mustangs took second as a team. Bailey Hoffa was 11th (23:09) and Hannah Gayler took 15th (23:44).

Ashley Brindle was 16th (23:46) for Attica, who took seventh.


Bis-Henn wins Salt Fork Invite

COVINGTON, Ind. — Andy Bott shot a 77 as the Blue Devils won the Salt Fork Invitational with a score of 335 at Rivercrest Golf Club.

David Warren shot a 83 for Bismarck-Henning while Logan Reifsteck had a 84 and Josh Heidrick carded a 91.

Salt Fork was third at 381 with Courtney LaFoe shooting a 92, Oakwood was fourth (392) with Brandon Rowe scoring a 94, Westville was fifth (393) with Adam High shooting a 82, Hoopeston Area took sixth (405) with Tristyn Trosper getting a 93 and Chrisman/Georgetown-Ridge Farm was seventh (422) with Austin Merritt shooting a 87.


Swisher advances to State

RONCALLI, Ind. — Seeger’s Kiley Swisher advanced to next week’s state finals after shooting an 80 in a IHSAA Golf regional at Smock Golf Course.

Along with Swisher, Covington’s Abby White competed in the meet and shot a 93 for the day.

Swisher will start play in the tournament on Friday at Franklin, Ind.’s Legends Golf Club.


Danville 2 Charleston 0

CHARLESTON — Luis Rubio and Mikee Maniquis each scored goals as the Vikings won in non-conference action.

Dakota Gash and Gracson Torres each had one assists while Cameron Griffin had three saves in goal for Danville, who is 6-4-3 and will face Bismarck-Henning on Monday.

Herscher 2, Hoopeston Area 1

HOOPESTON — Skyler Barnard had a goal but it was not enough as Herscher rallied to get the win.

Elijah Yates had the assist for Hoopeston Area, who are 12-2 and will return to Vermilion Valley Conference action on Tuesday when it will face Oakwood in the Kick Cancer Game.
