Falcons start the season with shutout win over Warriors

---- — MARSHALL, Ind. — Brayden Woodard passed for two touchdowns and ran for two more while Jacob Earl had three touchdowns and 143 yards rushing as North Vermillion shut out Turkey Run 56-0 in the season opener for both game.

Woodard passed for 166 yards and had 57 yards on the ground while Abbott Dowers had five catches for 125 yards and two touchdown catches.

North Vermillion did most of their scoring in the first half, scoring 49 points and after Woodard’s 28-yard pass to Dowers, the team slowed things down.

Kyle Wickens had six tackles and two and a half sacks for North Vermillion, who will take on South Vermillion next week.

Attica 71 Riverton Parke 0

MONTEZUMA, Ind. — The Red Ramblers took the lead early and made quick work of the Panthers in Wabash River Conference action.

Attica will return home next week to take on Clinton Prairie in non-conference action.

Rockville 42 Seeger 6

ROCKVILLE, Ind. — Jake Sell scored on a 30-yard run for the Patriots to tie things up at 6-6 in the second quarter, but the Rox took the lead later in the quarter and dominated the second half.

The Patriots will try to regroup at home next week against Benton Central.

South Vermillion 35 Covington 2

COVINGTON, Ind. — The Trojans got a safety but that was it as they were defeated by South Vermillion.

The Trojans will try to come back next week when they host Rockville.

Schlarman wins triangular meet

DANVILLE — The Hilltoppers started the season with a win over Chrisman and Shiloh in a triangular meet at Harrison Park Golf Course.

Sarah Daily and Clayton Bateman each shot a 48 for Schlarman, while Reed Steiner had a 51 and Devon Gondry carded a 55.
