LOCAL ROUNDUP: Storm gets past Comets

FITHIAN — Max Stutsman had 19 points, with 10 points in the fourth quarter, as the Salt Fork boys basketball team scored 23 points in the fourth to get a 56-45 win over Oakwood in Vermilion Valley Conference action on Friday.

Ross Learnard had 10 points for the Storm, while Alec Dutton had nine and Cole Taylor added eight points.

Parker Lee had a game-high 22 points for Oakwood, who was tied with Salt Fork 20-20 at halftime and was only down 33-32 entering the fourth, while Kyle Elliott added 15.

Salt Fork will play Georgetown-Ridge Farm on Tuesday while Oakwood will take on Chrisman on Monday.

WESTVILLE — Tanner Cox had nine of his game-high 17 points in a 20-point first quarter for the Tigers as they cruised past the Buffaloes.

Kyle Brazas had 15 points for Westville, who was up 38-13 at halftime and 60-19 after the third quarter, while Layn White and Jeffery Thompson each had nine, and Robert Elliott and Jordan Romo each added six.

Garrett Martin led Georgetown-Ridge Farm with seven points while Dylan Cosat had five and Kyle Coburn, Dylan Bina and Aaron Scott each had four.

Westville will play Milford on Tuesday.

ARMSTRONG — Jeff Cann had 19 points as the Bearcats defeated the Trojans.

Alex Portwood had 18 for Milford, who was up 27-18 at halftime, while Jacob Rogers had 13 and Daniel Koehn added seven.

Blake Davis led Armstrong-Potomac with 12 points while Shawn Johnson and Wade Rogers each had 11.

The Trojans will play Schlarman on Tuesday.

WILLIAMSPORT, Ind. — Borden Kennedy had 14 points as the Patriots defeated the Panthers.

Nathan Devillez had 13 points for Seeger, who was up 26-21 at halftime, while Zach Stitt had eight and Caleb Orahood and Issac Foxen each had seven.

The Patriots will play Covington on Thursday.

MARSHALL, Ind. — Bryce Cooper led a balanced Red Ramblers attack with 21 points as the Red Ramblers ran over Turkey Run.

Jordan Capps had 15 points for Attica, who was up 33-19 at halftime, while Keetin Arnold and Kenny Little each had 10.

The Red Ramblers will host Rossville on Thursday.

Danville 2

DANVILLE — Chris Affinati and Jonathan Juliano scored goals for the Dashers, but it was not enough as they lost to the FHL-leading Demonz.

Billy Hunt, Henry Coxe, Kevin McCready and David Lun each had assists while Justin Sand had 26 saves in goal for Danville, who will play Dayton again today.
