St. Joseph-Ogden boys basketball star Chase Patton will not go far in starting his collegiate career as he signed a national letter of intent on Friday to attend Danville Area Community College.
Patton, a 6-foot-2 inch shooting guard, led the Spartans to a fourth-place finish in the IHSA Class 2A tournament in March. He ended his career with 1,085 points in his career and was part of 78 wins over the past three seasons.
“Chase is not only a talent on the court, but he is a great kid who comes from a tremendous family. We expect him to step in and compete for playing time right away,” DACC coach Mike Carpenter said. “We couldn’t be happier to have Chase in our program.”
Patton was also recently named to the IBCA All-State team.
The Jaguars are coming off a school-record 28-4 season, but must replace nine sophomores from the 2012-13 team.
