Attica would go on to add another touchdown in the opening moments of the fourth quarter on a pass from Sheridan to Cody Parker good for eight yards and the score.
The Ramblers tried to pass for the two points, but a Rockville defender broke it up to keep the score only 28-14.
Wilkey put the Rox on the board again on the first play after the kickoff return. From 57 yards away, he broke free down the right side for a touchdown and two-point play that pulled Rockville within six at 28-22 with 11:35 left in the game.
Attica chewed up a lot of clock on their next possession, using 14 plays and over seven minutes, but came away empty when they failed to convert a 4th-and-five on their 25.
Rockville took over on downs and proceeded up the field in eight plays to score - tying the game at 28-all on a Wilkey run. After two Rox timeouts, Wilkey broke through the Rambler line for the two-point score that put his team up for the first time in the game at 30-28.
With only 1:43 left when they got the ball, Attica went to the air with Sheridan throwing to Parker and Tyler Campbell to move the ball to the Rox 33 with under 30 seconds left.
After a Rambler penalty, Sheridan then hit Campbell again to move the ball to 34 with 3.5 seconds left. A spike stopped the clock with 1.2 seconds left.
Sheridan threw into the end zone but Ben Eads broke up the pass and time ran out with Attica on the short end of the 30-28 score.
Rockville head coach Herb King gave credit to his team for coming back repeatedly in the contest, especially after what he called a “poor performance” the previous week.
Good said that his team did not play well in the first half, noting, “If we'd played the first half like we played the second, it'd have been a different outcome, but you have to play four quarters, not two.”
