DANVILLE — The start of the Wabash River Conference Tournament saw at least one surprise going into Monday’s final.
The unseeded doubles team of C.J. Bowman and Chynna Yager from Fountain Central made it to the semifinals and will take on Seeger’s Haley Bartlett and Kiersten Girdler on Monday at Fountain Central High School. The top-seeded team of Abby Moore and Jordan Lindquist of Fountain Central will take on Attica’s Chloe Spragg and Sarah Emerick in the other semfinal.
In singles, Seeger’s Miranda Synesael started her run for a second-straight WRC singles title and advanced to the semifinals. She will be taking on teammate Kiley Swisher in a semifinal while Fountain Central’s Clare McGrady will take on Covington’s Mackensey Sorrell.
All singles semifinalists are already named to the All-WRC team. For Synesael, this will be her third time, while McGrady and Sorrell will be in for the second time and Swisher in for the first time.
