FLOSSMOOR — Danville girls track distance runner Sadie Elliott won two events to easily punch her ticket to next week’s state meet in Charleston during a Class 3A sectional meet at Homewood-Flossmoor High School.
Elliott won the 1,600 run in a time of 5 minutes, 22.26 seconds and the 3,200 with a time of 11:26.97.
Also for the Vikings, Ambrosia Williams advanced in the pole vault with an attempt of 9 feet.
Williams will not only go to Eastern Illinois University to compete in the pole vault as she was part of the 400 and 800 relay team with Desi Issac, Aariona Graham and Emone Davis. The 400 team ran a time 49.33 to take fifth in the event and the 800 team was fourth with a time of 1:45.21.
The action for next week’s Class 3A state meet will start on Friday.

GEORGETOWN — The Buffaloes scored more than two runs in each of the first four innings as they won in five innings over the Cornjerkers.
Garrett Martin and Dustin Campbell each had two hits and two RBIs for Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman, while Conor Steinbaugh had two hits and one RBI and Jake Brasker had one RBI.
Rylee Goodwin had seven strikeouts to get the win for the Buffaloes, who are 15-7 and 11-4 in the Vermilion Valley Conference and will take on Rantoul.
Chase Bouse took the loss for Hoopeston Area, who will play Milford today.

GEORGETOWN — The Buffaloes pounded out 16 hits as they beat the Bearcats in five innings.
Brittany Hay had a three-run home run with five RBIs for Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman, while Macey Alexander had three RBIs, Shay Yates, Emily Bruce, Megan Burris and LeeAnn Conrad each had two RBIs and Lexi Silva, Tristyn Mingee and Annelise Garrison each had one RBI.
Erin McNally had a home run and two RBIs for Milford, while Mindy Garrelts added one RBI.
