WESTVILLE — A two-out bunt single by Kearstyn Lewallen turned into the winning run in the seventh inning for the Westville Tigers.
After reaching first base, Lewallen wound up scoring after three consecutive wild pitches giving the Tigers a 9-8 victory over the Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman Buffaloes in a Vermilion Valley Conference softball game on Monday.
Stef Nourie, who came on in relief in the seventh, got the victory for Westville.
The Buffaloes, who fall to 7-10 overall and 2-5 in the VVC, rallied in the seventh with three runs to tie the game at 8-8. The key blow in the frame was a two-run homer by Macey Alexander.
Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman had built a 5-1 lead before Westville, which improves to 5-7 overall and 3-4 in the league, scored six times in the fifth to take a 7-5 lead.
Krista Smith had a home run and three RBIs for the Tigers, while Morgan Gallion, Courtney Miller, Destiny Phillips and Lewallen each finished with two hits.
Picking up multiple hits for the Buffaloes were Alexander, Lexi Sliva and Annelise Garrison.
Salt Fork 13, Milford 2
MILFORD — For the fourth straight Vermilion Valley Conference contest, the Salt Fork Storm rolled to a double-digit victory.
Junior shortstop Kayln Learnard led the Salt Fork offensive attack with two hits and three RBIs on Monday against Milford, while Lea Hall, Emilie McFadden, Kylee Summers, Lexi Smith, Camaryn Todd and Carly Chandler joined her with two hits.
Hall and Smith had home runs for the Storm, while Logan Sanford got the victory. Salt Fork is now 18-0 overall and 8-0 in the VVC with the victory.
Mindy Garrelts, the losing pitcher for the Bearcats, and Erin McNally each finished with two hits and an RBI for Milford.
Armstrong-Potomac 13, Shiloh 3
ARMSTRONG — Ashley Gayheart had three hits and four RBIs including the walk-off run-scoring hit in the sixth inning for the Trojans.
