Both pitchers did a nice job keeping batters off balance.
It was a nicely played game that had some unique plays.
In the fifth inning after a Blue Devil error, Schlarman’s Cameron Anderson hit a solid pitch up the middle which was for sure going to be a hit but a heads up play from Bismarck-Henning center fielder Dylan Dodd who threw out Anderson, who had trouble getting out of the batter’s box, to preserve the no-hitter for another inning.
“I thought it was an outstanding play from Dylan (Dodd) to be aware of the situation,” said coach Dodd.
Bismarck-Henning improves to 5-9 overall and 4-3 in the Vermilion Valley Conference; while Schlarman Academy falls to 0-12 and 0-6 in the league.
