PARIS — When it came down to it on Friday, the Danville Post 210 Speakers just followed up on what they practiced.
A squeeze bunt by Mark Strebin gave the Speakers a 5-4 win over Shelby County in the first day of the Paris Tournament.
“We consider ourselves a small ball team and that is something that we always practice on,” Post 210 coach Allan Sheppard said. “I was just happy it worked out because this was a great game.”
Austin Calhoun had two RBIs for the Speakers while Austin West had the tying RBI with a sacrifice fly.
Austin Millholland picked up the win for Post 210, who will face Rockville today at 9:30 a.m.
