HANNIBAL, Mo. — After a close defeat on Thursday, the Danville Dans made sure that did not happen on Friday.
The Dans scored seven runs in the first two innings as they defeated the Hannibal Cavemen 10-0 in Prospect League action.
Paddy O’Brien got things started in the first inning with a RBI single and that was just a set up for the second inning.
In the second, Connor McManigal had a two-RBI double and would score on a two-RBI single by Austin Bryant. Bryant would score on a double by Keith Shumaker and O’Brien would drive in Shumaker for his second RBI of the game.
The eighth inning saw Cody Gardner get a RBI double and McManigal and Bryant getting RBI singles.
Bryan Baker got the win for Danville, with 11 strikeouts and only gave up four hits in seven innings.
The Dans are 7-7 and will stay on the road today to play the Quincy Gems.
