For the weekend, Bacys said the team is going for one last goal.
“Out goal is to finish in the top 20,” Bacys said. “We were in the 40’s last year, but that was with a few players. We are also worried about the weather, but I told them that we are going to have to work through that.
“I told them we don’t have to have a whole lot of pressure because if we don’t win our first matches, there are other matches on the back end where we can get points for victories and we can still do very well.”
The tournament starts today with first round matches as Ellis will take on Edwardsville’s Callaghan Adams and Vadenboncoeur will play Springfield Sacred-Heart Griffin’s Sydney Lynch.
In doubles, Rachel and Becca Lewis will play Elmhurst Timothy Christian’s Abigail Kumar and Erin Van Kampen while Shah and Patel will take on Oak Park River Forest’s Taylor Arends and Tess Trinka.
