Danville soccer rallies in second half

Turkey Run 4, Covington 1

MARSHALL, Ind. — Amit Shah and Brendan Woolwine won in doubles for the only win of the day for the Trojans against the Warriors.

Ethan Snyder lost a three-set match with two tie-breakers in singles for Covington, who will take on Rockville on Thursday.

PREP VOLLEYBALL

Normal West 2, Danville 0

NORMAL — Mackenzie King had two kills as the Vikings lost to the Wildcats 25-11, 25-9 in Big 12 Conference action.

Ashley Forthenberry had a kill and a block for Danville, who is 2-11 and ill play at the Bradley-Bourbonnais Tournament on Saturday.

Salt Fork 2, Chrisman 1

CHRISMAN — Britton Seamon had 11 kills, four blocks and four aces as the Storm got past the Cardinals 23-25, 26-24, 25-22 in Vermilion Valley Conference action.

Emilie McFadden had 13 kills and two aces fro Salt Fork while Jenny Kimbro and Leah Hall each had five kills, Allie Trosper had 34 assists and Laken Waltz had 14 digs.

The Storm are 9-2 and 2-0 in the VVC and will play Armstrong-Potomac on Thursday.

Oakwood 2, Westville 1

FITHIAN — Peyton Jones had nine kills and seven blocks as the Comets got past the Tigers 9-25, 25-7, 25-21.

Makayla Gayler had five kills and seven digs for Oakwood while Tayler Obenland had six blocks and Sadie Edwards added 17 assists.

Lauren Barthalow had three kills and three aces and Mariah Rolinitis had three kills and four digs for Westville while Mikayla Rolinitis had three blocks, Adrianne Pate had seven assists and two blocks and Morgan Gallion had four assists and two aces.

The Comets will take on Georgetown-Ridge Farm on Thursday while Westville will host Chrisman.

Geo-RF 2, Milford 0

GEORGETOWN — Kelsey Buckman had eight kills and two aces as the Buffaloes defeated the Bearcats 25-22, 25-19.

Lexi Silva had six kills and two blocks for Georgetown-Ridge Farm while Hannah Brandt had 10 assists.
