DANVILLE — The Vikings scored all three of their goals in the second half as they defeated Mattoon 3-1 in non-conference action on Tuesday at Ned Whitesell Field.
Grascon Torres assisted in the first two goals, setting up Mikee Maniquis one minute and 30 seconds into the second half and would get a corner kick in for Jon Huff to use his head seven minutes later.
After Mattoon cut the lead to 2-1, Luis Rubio scored from 20 yards out to clinch the win with two minutes left.
Cameron Griffin had six saves for Danville, who are 3-3-3 and will host Normal Community on Saturday.
Hoopeston Area 9, Schlarman 0
DANVILLE — Levi Stebbins had two goals as the Cornjerkers built up a 8-0 halftime lead against the Hilltoppers.
Andrew Samet, Chase Bouse, Trey Anderson, Cassidy Dixon, Kyle Warren and Jonathan Linares all had goals for Hoopeston Area while Crose had two assists and Nathan Michael, Anderson, Tanner Burton, Linares and Charlie Warner each had one assist.
Trey Layden had three saves in goal for the Cornjerkers are 10-1 and 3-0 in the Vermilion Valley Conference and will play Salt Fork/Westville on Thursday.
Chris Kuchefski had 13 saves in goal for Schlarman Academy, who will play Covington on Monday.
Oakwood 3, Bis-Henn 1
BISMARCK — After giving the Blue Devils the early lead with an own goal, the Comets fought back to get the win.
Mitchell Day, Owen Bennett and Steven Mackiewicz each had goals for Oakwood, while Mason Welch had an assist.
Landon Turner had seven saves in goal for the Comets, who are 5-6-3 and will play Georgetown-Ridge Farm on Thursday.
Conner Wilson had four saves for Bismarck-Henning, who are 2-3-1 and will play Schlarman Academy on Thursday.
