ARMSTRONG — What was a close game between the Salt Fork and Armstrong-Potomac softball teams turned into a different direction in the seventh inning on Friday as the Storm scored 10 runs as they won 16-5 in Vermilion Valley Conference action.
Emilie McFadden and Kaylee McFadden each had two RBIs for Salt Fork while Kylee Summers, Logan Sanford and Lexi Smith each had one RBI.
Megan Cain and Ashley Gayheart each had one RBI for Armstrong-Potomac, who will play Bismarck-Henning on Monday while the Storm will play Westville on Monday.
Bismarck-Henning 7, Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman 6
BISMARCK — Brittany Ribbe hit a double and scored on a error as the Blue Devils defeated the Buffaloes in nine innings.
Masyn Clow had a home run and two RBIs for Bismarck-Henning while wining pitcher Phoenix Lacombe had two RBIs.
Losing pitcher Lexi Silva had three RBIs for Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman, who took a 6-2 lead after the second inning, while Macey Alexander, Megan Burris and Savannah Brooks each had one RBI.
The Blue Devils are 6-2 and 2-0 in the VVC and will play Armstrong-Potomac on Monday.
Hoopeston Area 4, Westville 0
HOOPESTON — Rylee Martin had six strikeouts as the Cornjerkers shut out the Tigers.
Kelcie Longfellow had two hits and three RBIs for Hoopeston Area while Shania Goble had two hits and an RBI.
Krista Smith had three his for Westville, who is 2-4 and 0-2 in the VVC and will play Salt Fork on Monday while the Cornjerkers are 4-1 and 1-1 and will play Schlarman Academy on Monday.
North Vermillion 6, Rockville 2
ROCKVILLE, Ind. — Chelsea Schrader had two hits and two RBIs as the Falcons defeated the Rox in the semifinals of the Banks of the Wabash Tournament.
Taylen Balding had three hits with one RBI for North Vermillion while Melissa Moody added an RBI.
Abby Lenhart got the win for the Falcons, who will host Riverton Parke today for the BOW title.
