TOLONO — The Salt Fork/Westville soccer team had some issues getting to Monday’s match against Unity.
First, the team bus had some mechanical issues and then the Storm Tigers needed their own jump start after Getch Esenmenger scored twice giving the Rockets a 2-0 lead.
Noah Darr got the Salt Fork/Westville offense ignited and his game-high seven assists propelled the Storm Tigers past the Rockets 7-2 in a non-conference soccer match.
“We didn’t have our normal warmup time and I think that might have been a factor,’’ Salt Fork/Westville coach Todd Woods said.
Jordan Romo scored three times for the Storm Tigers (7-2), while Jason Gooch had two goals and the other two went to Kendl Gulick and D.J. Nourie.
Salt Fork/Westville keeper Aaron Marx finished with 10 saves.
