Tigers continue strong start with win over East Central

---- — WESTVILLE — Four pitchers combined for a one-hitter as the Westville baseball team went to 3-0 on Wednesday with a 6-0 win over East Central.

Mark Strebin got the win, going four innings and struck out four for the Tigers, while Tanner Cox, Austin Milholland and Tyler Dicken also contributed to the one-hitter.

Aaron Marx had two hits and three RBIs for Westville while Kyle Brazas had three hits and Tristan Flynn had an RBI.

The Tigers will play Unity today at 4:30 p.m.

Milford 18, St. Anne 0

MILFORD — The Bearcats scored 11 runs in the first inning as they easily beat St. Anne in five innings.

Clayton Rieches had three hits and four RBIs for Milford with a home run while Kyle McNally had three RBIs, Alex Portwood, Tanner Davenport, Shayne McNally and Jordan Gullquist each had two and Ryley Ward and Keegan Martin each had one.

Shayne McNally had nine strikeouts and only allowed one hit for the Bearcats.

Fisher 12, Oakwood 4

OAKWOOD — The Comets had a slow start to the season as the Bunnies scored nine runs in the first inning.

Blake Vinson took the loss but also had two RBIs for Oakwood while Taylor Turner drove in the other two runs.

The Comets will play Monticello today.

PREP SOFTBALL

Milford 21, St. Anne 3

MILFORD — The Bearcats had 11 runs in the first inning en route to a five-inning win over St. Anne.

Sierra Fanning had a grand slam with five RBIs for Milford while Mindy Garrelts had three doubles with six RBIs and Taylor Simpson had three RBIs.

The Bearcats will play Tri-Point on Saturday.

COLLEGE SOFTBALL

DACC 6-3, Olney 1-11

OLNEY — Linley Smith had three hits with a home run and three RBIs as the Lady Jaguars won the first game of a doubleheader with Olney.

Kylee West had an RBI for DACC while Stephanie Stefancic had two hits and winning pitcher Christen Lord had a double.

In the second game, Smith had three hits and two RBIs while Ally Thornton added an RBI.

The Lady Jaguars are 2-8 and will play Lincoln today.
