BISMARCK — Andy Bott had 17 points as the Bismarck-Henning boys basketball team defeated Hoopeston Area 54-28 on Wednesday in Vermilion Valley Conference action.
Chase Connelly had 11 points for the Blue Devils, who were only up 19-16 at halftime before putting the game away with a 35-11 second half, while Wilde Garowski had 10 points and Dylan Allen added nine points.
Brennan Crose had 12 points for the Cornjerkers, who was coming off a loss on Tuesday to Milford at the Watseka Holiday Tournament, while Daniel Lawson had nine and Mason Layden had six.
The Blue Devils will start play at the BSN Classic on Dec. 26.
Chrisman 57, A-P 32
ST. JOSEPH — Ty Bolen had 22 points as the Cardinals blew past the Trojans at the LEader Classic.
Chase Anderson had eight points for Chrisman, who was only up 7-6 in the first quarter, before scoring 19 points in the second quarter to bolt away from Armstrong-Potomac for good, while Tyler Lunger had seven.
Dentler Loscher had 13 points for the Trojans while Austin Rademacher had seven and Shawn Johnson added six.
Both teams will be in action on Friday’s last day of the tournament.
Fisher 51, Westville 47
ST. JOSEPH — Kyle Brazas had 20 points, but the Tigers could not get past the Bunnies at the Leader Classic.
Jeffery Thompson had 16 points for Westville, who was down 23-17 at halftime, while Dalton Hilligoss added eight points.
The Tigers will play in the fifth-place game of the Classic on Friday.
Danville’s Saturday game time changes
DANVILLE — The start time of Saturday’s Danville High basketball game against Peoria Manual has been changed..
Originally, the Vikings and the Rams were scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. with the junior varsity and the varsity contest was tentatively set for 7:30.
With a possible ice storm hitting the state of Illinois on Saturday, athletics director B.J. Luke has moved up the tipoff time to 4:30 for the junior varsity and the varsity contest will tip around 6 p.m.
This is the first of two back-to-back games for Danville High against Manual. The same two teams are scheduled to play at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26, in the first round of the Pontiac Holiday Tournament.
PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL
Hoopeston Area 47, GSW 34
GILMAN — Shelby Holzinger had 20 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks as the Cornjerkers defeated Gardner South Wilmington at the Iroquois West Holiday Hoopla.
Haley Dixon and Tori Smock each had eight points for Hoopeston Area, who was up 25-12 at halftime, while Aly Zarate had five points and five assists.
The Cornjerkers will play Milford today for the Consolation Championship.
Shiloh 58, Oakwood 19
FITHIAN —Delaney Durst had seven points, but the Comets could not get on track against Shiloh in non-conference action.
Lexy Terry had four points for Oakwood while Kylie Harden added three points.
The Comets will play at the Champaign Judah Christian Invitational on Saturday.
