Danville Area Community College freshman Tim Toler recorded a double-double as the Jaguars won their third straight on Wednesday night.
Toler had a game-high 25 points and 10 rebounds to lead DACC past the Wabash College junior varsity team, 71-62 at the Mary Miller Gymnasium.
The Jaguars (4-5) shot just 45 percent from the field and they committed 21 turnovers in the contest, including 15 in the first half.
“We were very sloppy in our first game back after break,’’ said coach Mike Carpenter said as DACC had not played since Nov. 25 against Lincoln Trail. “Bottom line is, we got a win.’’
Additionally, the Jaguars were able to play 12 players, including J.T. Hatfield, who was making his first appearance after sitting out the first eight games with an injury.
Hatfield had five points, four rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots in his 19 minutes of game time.
“We were able to get some guys minuts off the bench tonight,’’ Carpenter said. “That should help us down the road.’’
Sophomore Kyle Smith was the only other Jaguar in double figures with 11, while sophomore guard Billy Hayes added nine.
Up next for the Jaguars is the Olney Classic on Friday and Saturday.
DACC opens against Clark State College at 6 p.m. Friday, before playing Olney Central at 8 p.m. Saturday.
