The Danville Vikings had three players in double figures but it wasn’t quite enough as the Lincoln Railsplitters beat the Vikings 63-52 on Wednesday night at the Lincoln Thanksgiving Tournament.
Sophomore D’Lando Carter had a team-high 15 points for the Vikings (0-2), while sophomore Joey Robinson scored 11 and senior Terrell Duckworth chipped in with 10.
Danville shot an impressive 58.5 percent from the field (24-of-41), but Lincoln matched them at 52.1 percent (25-of-48).
The difference in the game for the Railsplitters (2-0) came from the 3-point arc where they had nine made 3-pointers and Danville managed just two.
Danville junior Mario Crosby played for the first time on Wednesday night as he had a team-high five assists for the Vikings.
Crosby missed Monday’s season opener against Champaign Centennial after sustaining a concussion during a practice on Nov. 15.
In the other game played at Lincoln on Wednesday night, Champaign Centennial defeated Peoria Manual 76-66.
Up next for Danville is Friday’s 5:30 p.m. game against Peoria Manual (1-1).

OAKLAND — Sophomores Joel Learnard and Ryan Anderson combined for 44 points to lead the Storm past the Panthers at the Tri-County Thanksgiving Tournament.
Learnard had a game-high 24 points and a team-high 11 rebounds, while Anderson had 20 points, including three 3-pointers and eight rebounds for Salt Fork, which is rated No. 4 in the AP preseason Class 1A poll.
Storm coach Aaron Hird pointed that his team had only two full practices before Wednesday’s game as Joe Pratt, who had 10 points, Jake Manning, seven points and Lance Hubbard were on the school’s semifinal football team.
Salt Fork will play Oblong and Champaign Judah Christian on Friday.

CANCUN, Mexico — Mandy Morales hit a running 15-footer with 0.7 seconds left in overtime to live the Grizzlies past the Illini in day one of the Caribbean Challenge.
Illinois (3-2) had a chance to win at the end of regulation when junior All-American Jenna Smith, who had a team-high 19 points, found Lacey Simpson open on the baseline. Simpson, who had 12 points had her shot rattle out as the buzzer sounded.
Up next for the Fighting Illini will be an 8:30 p.m. contest tonight against South Dakota State (4-1).
