ROUNDUP: Denton leads Chrisman past Westville

Fountain Central sweeps Western Boone

STAFF REPORT

DANVILLE Chrisman’s Craig Denton earned medalist honors on Wednesday with a 4-over 39 at Harrison Park.

Denton’s round helped Chrisman (2-1) claim a 40-stroke victory over Westville (190-230) in the dual.

Brice Howard had the low round for the Tigers (0-5) with a 54.

In the girls competition, Westville’s Kathy Carroll had the best round of the day with a 52.

CROSS COUNTRY

Red Ramblers sweep top spots in dual with Rox


ATTICA — Michael Mattern and Taylor Evans each crossed the finish line first in a cross country dual with Rockville.

Mattern won the boys race with a time of 17 minutes, 59 seconds, while Evans claimed the girls top spot with a time of 23:14.

THORNTOWN, Ind. — Phillip Koonce dropped just two games in his straight sets victory to lead the Mustangs past the Stars.

Fountain Central (3-2) also got victories in singles from Bryce McTagertt and Luke Clark. In doubles, Blake Nickle and Adam Walters won at No. 1 and the team of Landon Davenport and Levi Richter were winners at No. 2.
