SALLY JO GUMMERE

DANVILLE — Sally Jo Gummere, 65, of Danville, passed away at 5:25 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2006, at The Waters in Covington, Ind.

She was born Oct. 13, 1940, the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth Boyd Martin. Her mother then married Joe Bolton who raised Sally and her brothers. Sally married Joseph Dean Gummere on June 20, 1959. He preceded her on Dec. 14, 1996.

She retired from the Putman City Community Hospital in Palatka, Fla., where she had been an RN for many years. Sally enjoyed her friends and family, loved to travel and collect angels and was an avid reader.

Surviving are her children, Paula Sinclair of Danville, John W. (Shauna) Gummere of Norfolk, Va., and Kevin E. Gummere of Danville; two granddaughters and two grandsons; also two great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons; two brothers, Kenneth (Sherrill) Martin and James Bolton, both of Danville. She was preceded by her parents and husband.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at Lakeside-Barrick Funeral Chapel, 3550 N. Vermilion St., Danville. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Thursday, May 18, at the funeral home; Burial: Atherton Cemetery.
