Raymond L. Pichon, 82, of Westville, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Danville.
He was born Nov. 14, 1930, in Batestown, the son of Louis and Dorothy Snider Pichon, both deceased.
He was wed to Donna Bridgewater on April 29, 1950, in Danville. She survives.
He also is survived by his son, Jeff (Cheryl) Pichon of Westville; his daughter, Barb (Larry) Golden of Danville; grandchildren, Somer (Paxton) Corwin of Florida, Melissa (Dave) Dubois of Danville, Wesley Golden of Washington and Lauren (Matt) Carrell of Pittsboro; great grandchildren, Rylee Dubois, Ethan Dubois, Kashton Corwin, Ace Corwin, Owen Carrell and Morgan Carrell; and his brothers, Kenneth (Patsy) Pichon of Oakwood and Frank (Pat) Pichon of Danville. He was preceded in death by three sisters.
Raymond worked for Bullock Garage Construction Company where he managed the office, as well as, the mill. He retired after 46 years of service
Raymond enjoyed working in his yard, fishing, playing euchre and watching Illini basketball. He loved his faithful dog, Maddie. He also enjoyed organizing his photo albums and doing puzzles. Most of all, Raymond enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Raymond’s life will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville.
Memorial donations may be given in his name to Vermilion County Animal Shelter Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association.
