WESTVILLE —William Patrick Sr., 85, of Westville, passed away at 1:52 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville.
He was born Jan. 12, 1928, in Paintsville, Ky., the son of Carl and Rebecca King Patrick.
He married Ella Mae Griffith on Oct. 6, 1955, in West Liberty, Ky. She preceded him in death on July 10, 2008.
Survivors include five sons, Larry “Douglas” Patrick of Indianapolis, William E. Patrick Jr. of Heyworth, Franklin Thomas Patrick of Alexander, Iowa, Robert Eugene Patrick of Nashville, Tenn., and Charles Kenneth Patrick of Georgia; one daughter, Dedria “Dee” Raye Arnold of Osage Beach, Mo.; one brother, Clarence Patrick of Mize, Ky.; three sisters, Sue Hackworth of Defiance, Ohio, Yvonne Osborn of Royalton, Ky., and Tommie Jean Edwards of Westville; 11 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
William was the owner and operator of Bill & Ella’s Sandwich Shop & Dining Service. He was a retired coal miner and past mayor of Cuba, Ill. He had worked as a Civil Defense director and enjoyed helping people.
Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at Stearns Cemetery in Fithian with Pastor Nancy Wilson officiating. Robison Chapel in Catlin is handling arrangements.
