---- — MORTON – Donna J. Longer, 85 of Morton, formerly of Danville, went home to be with her Lord Friday morning, Sept. 27, 2013, at AC Restmor in Morton.
Donna was born June 16, 1928, in Chicago, to Harry M. and Eva M Chezem. She married Don Longer on Aug. 19, 1950, in Danville.
Donna is survived by her husband, Don, of Morton; her daughters, Vickie (Michael Boatman) Longer of East Peoria, and Candy (Randy) Kaluza of Morton; grandson, Michael (Trisha) Kaluza of Morton, and two precious great-grandchildren Haley and Layton. Also surviving is her sister, Alice J. Hall, and brother, Jim (Connie) Chezem, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dean Chezem.
Donna was a devoted Christian wife and mother. She was a talented artist and seamstress. After her children were grown, Donna spent time traveling with Christian Women’s Club as a motivational speaker. She was very involved all her life at Ridgeview Baptist Church. She brought joy and a smile to everyone.
Services will be at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, with Pastor Mark Keyser officiating. A visitation will be at 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Ridgeview Baptist Church, Don and Donna Longer Scholarship Fund at Lakeview College of Nursing in Danville or Don and Donna Longer Scholarship Fund at Danville Area Community College.
