Beulah M. Thomas, 88, of Georgetown, formerly of Indianola, passed away at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, in Danville, with her family at her side.
She was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Lilbourn, Mo., the daughter of Jay W. and Dora Lola (Austin) Barrett, both deceased.
She was united in marriage to Joseph E. Thomas on Sept. 27, 1941, in Danville, until his passing in June of 1984.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Jim (Ruth) Thomas, Ricky Thomas, Gregory (Sherri) Thomas, Rozella (Fred) Clore, Donna (John) Sloan, Bonnie (Steve) Lyman and Lola (Robert) Snell; her 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Woods. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Barbara Thomas; three grandchildren; and three sisters.
Beulah was a member of the United Methodist Church of Indianola. She had retired from Georgetown Republic Plastics factory.
She loved flowers, gardening and cooking for her extended families. She was a wonderful Christian woman and devoted her life to caring for her seven children and their families.
A celebration of Beulah’s life will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with David Almy officiating. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Indianola.
