AURORA — Robert Edward Fowler, 93, of Aurora, was called to his heavenly home on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013.
He was born July 26, 1920, in Catlin, son of the late Herbert and Laura Mae (Milemore) Fowler.
He was recently preceded in death by his loving wife of 74 years, Dorothy Jane, who passed away on Aug. 2, 2013.
Robert was an Army veteran of World War II and served with 1st Armored Division in the ETO. After retiring from Caterpillar with 43 years of service, he began restoring and repairing clocks and watches for family and friends.
He was known for his love of family, hard work ethics and his strong belief in education.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Marilyn (Bill) Weir and Jayne (Mike) Finn; grandchildren, Brad (Teri) Weir, Pat (Andrea) Finn and Katie Finn; great-granddaughter, Bella Weir.
Burial will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery, Danville, at a later date.
Memorials would be appreciated to organizations that reflect who Robert was in life.
