CATLIN — Ronald L. Cappello, 67, of Catlin passed away at 10:24 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at his home.
Ron was born Feb. 24, 1946, in Danville to Charles & Dorothy Hughes Cappello.
Survivors include one daughter, Tammi (Jim) Moody of Catlin; one sister, Janet Neathery of Minooka, Ill.; four grandchildren, Blake, Logan, Tyler and Emma; and his girlfriend: Cindy Phillips of Georgetown. He was preceded in death by two sons, one infant and Kevin Cappello.
Ron retired from General Motors Tilton Foundry after over 20 years, and owned and operated Ron’s Bike Shop in Catlin. He enjoyed racing and instilled that love in his son and grandsons, serving as a mentor to them, and took great pride in their accomplishments and trophies. He liked fishing at the Fairmount Quarry and, most of all, his coffee shop buddies.
Funeral services: 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at Robison Chapel in Catlin, with Pastor Jay Sorrell officiating. Burial in: Greenwood Cemetery in Danville.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Memorials to Carle Hospice.
